Google Local Service Ads Are More Than Ads - They're Trust!

"Guaranteed By Google" Fills A Missing Trust Gap Online

The nature of online commerce makes people hesitant about accountability. People don't need a "Guaranteed By Google" check to pick a hot dog stand to have lunch; they know they're getting a hot dog because it exchanges hands when the $2 does.

That's not how it works online: people project the worst fears ahead of judgement and envision throwing money into a void where they can never get it back and no one is held accountable. So when a big company like Google is willing to say they've investigated the business, deem them credible and responsive and is willing to offer a guarantee - that's a big deal for a lot of people.

Getting this can take hours on the phone alone. I can make it happen in usually under a day if your profile is ready. Want To Book A Consult Now? Here's the process you need to be ready to shepherd through:

Google LSA

What You Need For LSA Business Verification (Homework Before Proceeding)

You'll need your business incorporation, registration and identification numbers as well as any applicable State or Federal license numbers (such as contractor's license number, liquor license information, any regulatory licenses that apply to your business).

You'll need your insurance certification for any insurance that you're required to keep in order to operate lawfully in your jurisdiction.

It helps if you can put together some stories of how customers might come to need your services (If beyond the obvious need) and the kind of problems you can solve for them. Our efforts have to show that we understand their needs.

What Are Blue's Responsibilities In This?

My job is to bridge the "Trust Gap" by acting as your technical advocate with Google. I don't just "fill out the form"; I curate your digital identity to ensure it meets Google's strict verification standards on the first try. I manage the document uploads, coordinate with background check vendors, and monitor your dashboard daily to ensure your "Google Guaranteed" status remains active.

Google can and does recycle numbers given to vendors, and it's not uncommon for old, residual traffic to land and if someone isn't watching out for that, you end up paying for what ultimately adds up to very expensive house keeping. I have ways to detect and proactively fix these matches, so you're not responsible. No system is full proof, but mine turns a major leak into a tiny drip.

What Has To Happen From Your Side (What Only You Can Do As Business Owner)

While I handle the technical heavy lifting, Google requires the business owner to personally vouch for the business's integrity. You will need to:

  • Authorize the Background Check: Google uses a third party (like Evident, others in the past). You'll receive a secure link to provide your government IDs and consent. I can help you prep for this.

  • Supply Fresh Documentation: I need digital copies of your current General Liability insurance and any trade-specific licenses (state or local) required to operate.

  • Be "The Expert": When I'm setting up your profile, I'll need a 15-minute brain-dump of the specific problems you solve. I can't fake your expertise; I can only amplify it.

  • Going through the required advertiser verification (from Google Ads), because Google Ads is the billing platform for LSA. I can get you through this pretty quickly usually the same day as everything else. It is common for re-submissions to be requested for both ID and business documents; I have a system for staying on top of it.

Once we're set (and while we're working on this), we also set up lead qualification and filtering.
